I am a native of Utah, and
I want to be your advocate for your rights to your Personal Choice.
What is Personal Choice?
Well, the great thing is that we all get to define for ourselves
what that means. My only concern is that Government does not
infringe on your personal choices, as long as your choices do not
infringe on the Lives, Liberties, Properties and Pursuits of
Happiness of other individuals. In other words, I believe your
Personal Choice is an inalienable right that must be secured by the
government as long as you respect the equal rights of others to
their Personal Choices.
We must remember that our
government gets its authority from the "Consent of the governed" or
from "Us, the People." We made the government. It belongs to us. If
God made the government, He did it through the people, and that's
the only just way He can change it, not through the unconstitutional
edict of some government official or group. It is under us, not
above us.
We have become accustomed to thinking that Government is an entity
that is separate from you and me. The truth is that You and I 'ARE'
the Government and it is time that we recognized that basic and
simple fact. When the government goes astray, the Founding Fathers
said it is the job of the people to fix it. So, let's fix it.
As your Governor, I plan to take my oath of office seriously, and
Defend, Support and (here is the biggy) Obey the Utah and U.S.
Constitutions. If I have to choose between violating my conscience
and violating the Constitution, I will resign, rather than violate
the Constitution.
Please give me a chance to prove my word. If you like my ideas, tell
your friends.
